New 5F1 '59 Champ Tribute by Edgefield Tube Amp Co.
Mojo finger-jointed pine cab, covered with genuine tweed fabric. I have applied five coats of antique amber shellac. While the cab and chassis are Mojo products, this IS NOT one of their kits. The guts are hand wired to my personal specs, using premium components of my own choice, and includes grounding techniques and the use of milspec shielded cable to insure a very quiet running circuit.
Superb weberVST "Classic AlNiCo" Speaker.
American-made, hand-wound heavy duty power and output transformers from Kendrick Amplifier down in Texas.
Wonderful NOS Sylvania 5Y3GT rectifier and NOS RCA 6V6GT power tubes. Preamp tube is a new TAD 12AX7.
Note: Just installed a pair of yellow Jupiter Tone coupling caps on the pre-amp (12AX7 stage)These are very expensive caps but give a more authentic tweed tone.
This amp is patterned after the famous Tweed Champ. This one is based on the popular 5F1 circuit, and it's a pure single-ended, Class A tube guitar amp. The originals were made as student practice amps, but in later years found themselves in the hands of professional recording artists. They were found to be superb amps for studio sessions, as you can get that warm harmonic distortion without blowing the windows out of the house.

The shiny stuff you see around the small orange drop caps is clear silicon to help hold everything still. In working on old Ampegs, I noticed that they used some kind of brown gunk to accomplish the same thing. Helps kill unwanted mechanical harmonics. Probably over kill.

Here you can see one of Teb Weber's fine American made speakers. This one sounds super fine.

Nothing cosmic here -- it's just the back of this fine little amp

This is what happens when you "dime" one of my amps. I just noticed a face in the cloud -- pretty spooky. This was taken over Atlanta recently.
