This lovely old Gibson amp was the 'Cadillac' of the Gibson line-up in the late 1940s. It was a favorite of jazz players of the time. I restored this amp for Jim Mings several years ago, and he has used it extensively for recording and some gigging. I had to replace the power transformer when he first brought the amp here for restoration. I could not find one that would fit inside the chassis, so I mounted one on top of the chassis. Therefore, the amp is not 100% original. I had also re-capped the amp, installed new tubes, and replaced some wiring. It does have a working foot switch for the tremolo which rides in a bracket inside the cabinet.
